Brian is a loyal, hard working BJJ practitioner. He was an assistant instructor for about six months and BJJ Academy is proud to have him as a certified blue belt instructor.

During his over 17 years of training McLane had the honor to trained with some of the top instructors, pro fighters and sport competitors in the world like Reylson Gracie, Rodrigo Gracie, Joe Moreira, Matt Serra, Ricardo Pires,  Frank Mir, Rob Lewis, and others.

     "Mac” has been training in BJJ since 1993. He trained under and was the Head Instructor for Reylson Gracie until 1996. Mac was personally trained by his son Rodrigo Gracie and obtaining his purple belt, where he and only two others were awarded a special instructor certification (BCIP) from Grand Master Reylson Gracie. During Mac's time at Reylson Gracie he competed and did a few in house battles with some tough non Gracie Jiu-Jitsu school competitors. In the mid 90s this was part of the learning curve.

     1998 to 2001 Mac taught at Modern Martial Arts in Las Vegas with Phil Karpinski while being associated with Renzo Gracie. Mac would also, travel to New York and train at the Renzo Gracie academy where he was taught by Rodrigo Gracie and Matt Serra.  At Modern Martial Arts, Mac had the pleasure to be one of the first to teach, train and be part of awarding Frank Mir with the Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

     From 2002-2004 Mac trained under Ricardo Perez and Sergio Pena at Las Vegas Combat Club and he also Trained at Master Toddy's Las Vegas Muay Thai center.

     From 2009-2010 Mac taught at the Pit North in Atascadero and from 2010-2012 Mac was training under and was the head instructor at the Joe Moreira / Rob Lewis Simian Martial Arts where Mac was awarded the four stripe purple belt under Professor Rob Lewis.

     From October 2011 to October 2015 Mac has was the owner of BJJ Academy (Atascadero) in CA. He recently sold the gym and is opening up a new gym in Celina TX.

     On 10-12-2013 Mac was awarded the Brown Belt from Professor Rodrigo Gracie, in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and is now a 1st degree Brown Belt.

​     On April 30, 2017 Mac was awarded the Black Belt from 9th Degree Red Belt Grand Master Joe Moreira. Mac is blessed and honored to be belted and taught by so many high level instructors and fighters. His lineage is all Gracie Jiu-Jitsu (Moreira Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt).

Muay Thai Kickboxing Instructor: Arjan Carlos Moreno

Ajan or “Ajarn” is a title used in the Combat sport of Muay Thai. It means “Master” (A higher level of instructor) and is a much revered and respected position in the traditions of Muay Thai. The term “Kru” is teacher. Carlos Moreno has earned his title of Ajarn in both the art and the sport of Muay Thai. Arjan Carlos Moreno has trained amateur and professional Muay Thai and MMA champions from central to northern California and currently in his North Texan home base. He began Muay Thai training in 1993 and joined the Cheetah Muay Thai Academy in 1996. He continued studying his art by living and training at the International Muay Thai School in Bangkok, Thailand where He earned the title of Kru in 1999, he was the 7th American to Recieve this prestiguous title from that school. He founded the American Muay Thai Association in 1996 with the goal of spreading Muay Thai to the community and uniting U.S. Muay Thai teachers. In 2009 he received a recognition award for his dedication to quality instruction and commitment to his students.

In June of 2011, he achieved Arjan, the master level for dedication to instruction and ability to teach Muay Thai by Master Cheetah. Arjan Carlos is the youngest American ever to earn master level under and is the official Midwest representative for Master Cheetah and the Cheetah Muay Thai Academy.

Veronica Manriquez

Brown Belt

​Veronica has been training BJJ for 11 years. She has compteted in many BJJ sportive IBJJF and other competitions. Veronica will be helping with the women's and completion program.

​Veronica is perficient in GI and NOGI teaching and training for fun and competition. Veronica's daughter is also very good in BJJ and competes.

​Having a qualified high level Brown belt female as part of the BJJ Academy family sets a part from all other BJJ gyms.
